Most forums have the sidebar on the right side of all their pages but at DN.ca we have often thought it make your experience too cluttered. For that reason we only show the side bar on the main index page of our site leaving a non cluttered ad free version on all other pages.
As of today you can also remove the sidebar on the main page by simply resizing your browser window. Make the window equal or smaller than 1,300 pixels and the sidebar will simply vanish.
This is especially handy on smaller screens and devices and keeps a look similar to the mobile layout on tablets and small laptop screens.
At DN we pride ourselves for our clean design and are therefore constantly adjusting the layout to make the experience as seamless as possible for our members.
