I'm guessing this was written by the typical democratic professor who thinks capitalism is bad and that socialism will save us.

Regardless of who wrote the paper, it's only a matter of time before artificial intelligence and automation becomes so advanced it's able to replace majority of humans. What happens then? I think we should start having these discussions sooner rather than later.

It's just similar shifts in the past, like the "Hey, let's move our production off-shore to increase profits."

It's really great... until everyone does it.

After all, there has to be someone who can buy your products and services, right? Right?

Wow, and you thought all this farmed-out 3rd world, tech support was a huge security risk.

If you've ever tooled around with AI, you will find it very amenable to scams and tricks, so I have no idea why some company would be stupid enough to rely on it for tech support. It's like putting a team of toddlers in charge - just wave a bag of candy at them and they'll do whatever you want.

I mean, what did Instagram expect would happen?
