LETS COMPARE

$31.20 USD is high if you own hindereds of them

If you own 500 domains the price is...

.CO domains
500 x $31.20 = $15,600 + $2,018 sales tax = $17,628

.CA domains
500 x $11.99 (domain club pricing) = $5,995 + $779.35 = $6,774.35

That means .co is $10,853.65 more expensive than .CA when renewing 500 domains

I guess it depends on the perceived domain/s

The .CO registry has been doing everything possible to cook the golden goose and drain out as much short-term profit as they can.

I maybe have a dozen .co I've paired down to over the years, I agree it makes it more difficult to maintain a high inventory given the renewal price, I would not want to have dozens or hundreds to maintain each year. You see the odd nice sale like Remedy.co but usually the high range for most .co sales I see is $5000 to $15000. .co renewal is around $42 CAD, so over 10 years that's $420, and I think if I get the odd sale I can cover that. The ones I have are a few NNNN.co, LLL.co, and one words.

I think if .ca got over $15 in renewal rate I would start shedding some names. I actually shed the odd name now and then, if I think a theme has passed or a word or phrase doesn't seem so significant anymore. The test I generally use is could I see it selling for $1000 or more.

3 things on my list to dispose of ..

All .net's - mostly done

All .xyz - mostly done

All domains of a sexual nature - done

Also whittling down two godaddy catalogs I bought, been selling a lot of them on NotRenewing so they are finally getting under control Bought hundreds of these domains but only paid for the catalogs what i deemed sellable.

Been selling a number of two word .ca's lately so I am re-evaluating and pricing them accordingly.

All in all for me BIN pricing with contact owner at spaceship got me a surprising number of sales.

any trends you're noticing in two word .ca sales that you can share? or just random?

I have so much luck with 2-3 word domains I see on billboards. I register similar in plural or singular and put them at a reasonable BIN.
The competition is always looking to get a similar domain and as luck would have it they stumble across your for sale page and click BIN.

I recently even sold a 3 word plural of a singular doing exactly that.
