Hello,

As you may have heard, Epik has been acquired and is under new ownership. We’re excited to share the first of many positive changes—we’ve lowered our prices to better serve you.

As someone with a substantial domain portfolio, you can now take advantage of a great cost-plus price: just $0.50 over our cost (which includes the registry price and the $0.18 ICANN fee).

Why the price drop?

Your partnership means everything to us, and we want to show our appreciation. That's why we've not only lowered our prices, but also streamlined our pricing structure. For most domains, registrations, renewals, and transfers will now share the same pricing, providing a seamless experience and added savings.

Log in to view your new pricing—and lock it down.

On September 1, Verisign plans to increase the cost of a .com domain by 72 cents. Register or renew your .com domains now (for one or multiple years) to avoid the upcoming registry price increase. Log into your account today to see your new pricing and renew to safeguard those savings.

Thank you for choosing Epik as your domain partner. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

First of all the .COM wholesale cost is going up 62 cents, not 72 cents. So, they are factually wrong there.

$0.50 "over our cost". What does that mean?

Are they saying that their "cost" is the registry price + ICANN fee ($0.18) or that the $0.50 includes them covering the ICANN fee?

Considering they have parentheses after cost, I am assuming they are defining their cost as registry price + ICANN fee. So, I think it would be $0.50 on top of that.

It doesn't seem all that compelling.

There are many other registrars that offer similar or better prices, service, support and don't have a history of scamming customers.

Who the F would ever use them regardless of the price?

And how do they declare "under new ownership" when it is the same exact beneficial owner?

The way the entire Epik fiasco has played out, I would never trust Monster with anything, not a domain reg, not as a broker, not as escrow, nor with serving my food at mcdonalds. The only place I'd like to see him operating is at the Washington State Penitentiary, he could use his domain branding experience at pitching & stamping out vanity license plates.

To anyone reading...

I posted this as news and it is not intended to be interpreted as an endorsement by me.

Fact is... I no longer have any domains at Epik and my advice to anyone thinking about it is to tread very carefully.

Yeah, honestly, I was questioning your logic for posting anything remotely neutral or positive about Epik here, so I had to chime in to make it clear you'd be a fool to use them.

This promotion is not going to save "Epik", no matter what version it is.

These numbers lag by (3) months. I am pretty sure the updated numbers will be even worse.
