After taking a 3+ year break, I just started playing again this week. Who knew that a Father of a 20 year old Daughter could be playing a “kids game” and still enjoy doing it. :)

I knew a father that did that with his late teens, he is divorced now.

Can't tell you if that was the reason but he sure spent a lot of time playing that game. We had a two family walk, dogs everything, his wife hung with us while him and his kids played virtual games. I remember saying that for being connected he sure was disconnected.

So don't forget the important stuff and remember to turn that screen off when you're in real nature.

Yes, absolutely. When we go for a nice hike, she knows that I don’t like phones for that.

I also kind of have a “no phone policy” when we go for dinner. That has to be one of my biggest peeves when a family is out together for a nice family meal and everyone is on their phones.

I’m a gamer and would have loved it if one of my parents shared my passion when I was younger. In my perspective, if any person devotes time and effort in the things that I enjoy doing, that means they value and love me for what I do.

I think you’re doing a great job sharing that Pokemon experience with your daughter. Now go and defeat those gym leaders nearby. 😆

Lucky for me, I live right close to a “gym” so I can take it down without leaving my couch. :)

Did that with my son tonight, it's one of the few things where he forgets about his X-Box

Not anymore, but my kids still talk about that summer where I bought them a ton of data from Bell ($$$) for some old iPhones, and we used to tool around the parks and other areas around our area looking for Pokemon on weekends. It was a short-lived fad but man, did they have a hoot.

I think a lot of the fun came from the fact they couldn't believe their Dad was doing this with them, running around a field collecting Pokemon while my littlest one screamed at me to catch a Tauros for her - similar to when I used to play a Disney Princess game with my daughter and her friends and it was the biggest gas to them when I had to wear the necklace and crown.

Man, Pokemon Go was just 6 years ago, but it seems a lifetime away. Kids grow up fast.

That’s it right there. Sometimes as a Parent we do some stuff that we don’t always enjoy but we know the kid(s) does so we do it anyway. But I’m not going to lie, there is a kid part still in me who likes this kind of stuff.

Tomorrow morning I will be going for a vegan breakfast with mine. Although I do enjoy it (vegan wrap anyone with some “egg” in it”?), nothing beats hashbrowns, eggs and bacon! Real bacon too. Not any of this Turkey bacon crap!

Ah, the Vegan/Non-Dairy movement, been there, done that.

The worst is having to read the packages of anything you buy looking for "milk products" in the ingredient list.

Even though I still consider myself “fairly young”, I’m at the point now where I think they put the ingredient list small on purpose so I can look like an older man and put on my reading glasses just to read that! It’s kind of funny when I get the “wait, you can’t read that” comment.
