Moxie sold on a payment plan, final cash payment received. The interesting part is that terms were more than cash. Officially it was $3500 USD, plus a week vacation rental in a large vacation home (suitable for 15+ people) in Costa Rica's Flamingo Beach. Who knows if I'll ever get to collect on that part, especially thanks to covid, but I had been mulling Costa Rica as a vacation spot for a couple years, so his counter offer with the vacation got me to say what the heck. Good timing on his part, especially since we're all going a little stir crazy with so many vacation plans simply not happening. If it never happens, not a big deal, but the fact that it was a fun idea was enough for me to just say sure.

Must have been a fun negotiation

Nice sale...and future vacation.

I would love to know how a vacation is even brought into the equation. Was it something like, “Well your offer is below the price I had in mind and a fair market value BUT if you have a vacation rental in Costa Rica, I will take your offer and the rental”!

Congrats on the sale and vacation! :)

Congrats on the sale and vacation! :)

I wasn't going lower on my price and then he countered with an increase in cash, plus the vacation home out of the blue, It kinda cracked me up, I appreciated his willingness to come up with something like that.

I did seriously look at Costa Rica a few times in the past couple years but my wife was always hesitant about going to new places, she's honestly not even that big a fan of going to mexico (although we MET in Cabo, and have gone to various places in mexico many times). So whenever I mentioned Costa Rica, it was a big fat no. But when I told her I had a free week, she warmed up to the idea. Especially when I said, if you don't want to go, we'll make it a guys trip.. haha...

I'm guessing he may rent that place out, and that it may be sitting empty right now due to covid, so maybe that's why he came up with it. However, he didn't put a time limit on it either... we'll see. Seriously with the way things look now, it'll be a while before we get there...

Congrats, was it sold to the restaurant company?

No, I don't think they'd ever be interested in that as a typo. And no one ever says "Moxie" it is clearly well known as Moxies.

The buyer is going to sit on it for a while, I think it was a long shot investment or idea. He wouldn't specify, and he didn't even want to use the domain any time soon. A little mysterious. I know more about him than I'm saying, but I can't seem to tie the term moxie to his life-long line of business, so his reasoning is still mysterious to me.
