This is a general discussion topic for Sibername Questions

Ask anything about Sibername and members will try to answer the questions.

I traditionally purchase my domains from members, marketplaces, or directly from the domain owners.

I have been registered with Sibername for a while but decided to get my feet wet this week.

I picked the following domains to bid on..

The main question I was going to ask is...

How does Sibername determine the minimum opening bid price?
Then I realized someone has probably already set the opening bid on saas.ca to $100.

Not sure if my assumption is correct or not but I thought I would ask.

PS. I am simply watching this week and have entered these 4 as my start.
I understand that I am drawing attention to the domains by posting them here. I have no preset expectations of getting them but am hoping that from the 4 at least one might land at sibername instead of MyID so I can watch the process.

The correct answer is someone had already bid $75 for that name and if you submitted that form, then you are bidding $100 for that domain.

Thank you Eby

I am excited to get my feet wet on TBR this week, I will limit myself to these four but to discuss Sibername...

They are still called Sibername, we can make a new topic when they change the name officially.

I have used their TBR for years and find it very easy to work with...and they have grabbed many, many names for me over the years.
They also fairly recently lowered the min start bid from $35 to $20. Not sure why but they were maybe trying to get people in on a name and you never know what will happen when/if it goes to auction.

...and I know WHC is trying to make things easier for domainers to manage multiple domains but please WHC, don’t mess with the Siber TBR until you are sure you have it right. I can’t stand MyID process.

Each TBR link costs about $1K every year, so any higher volume they can add to that fixed cost each week is essentially free money.

Siber/WHC knows that few if any good names will go for $20 straight-up, so they are really just taking $$$ away from guys like NamesPro.

Not sure how accurate the info is but this seemed like a good place to share it:
