As most of you know I had the big virtual meeting with WHC.ca & Sibername today.

I thought I would make a separate post about TBR and a lot of good insights with Emil Falcon, founder and CEO at Web Hosting Canada. Basically there was a transition issue because someone died just as the changeover happened and that would have affected the whole team. Then they missed the first run etc etc.

Emil assures me they are investing into the technology and success depend on how many threads they buy from CIRA. So the more threads they buy the greater chances of success. I do not understand all the technical aspects of this but Emil says they have dramatically increased their investment and he is aiming for a 70% catch rate. (wow how sweet would that be).

He also said sibername will be rebranded to WHC in the first or second quarter of the new year.
They are looking at making a top list similar to what [notify]DomainRecap[/notify] is doing and I suggested they work together with him if he is willing.

They want to provide some other services and pricing for domainers but I want to keep this topic about TBR so ask any questions you may have about the TBR part here.

Of course they are also talking bulk tools and when the name is caught it automatically ends up in your WHC account.

It sounded to me like they were dead serious about turning drop catch into a serious business. If I had to bet I would say MyId is going to have some serious competition moving forward and given the resources of WHC I would personally bet on them to take the lead moving forward.

Look for more posts on the meeting in the other sections soon.

I will tag [notify]efalcon[/notify] so he or one of his reps can answer your questions here.

Thank you for the update and details [notify]MapleDots[/notify]. I would have loved to have been there, especially to update my technical knowledge regarding the .CA drop. I've met Emil before at an industry event(s?) and all ooking forward to seeing what WHC comes up with.
