Top 10 Largest TLDs by Number (1.Viewing)

I knew Germany was going to be huge on the list because .de domains sell really well.

I have about 80 .de domains in one of my catalogs and have sold 3 in the last 12 months (that's a huge percentage). I have been following the .de market for years with another persona and I can tell you there is really good money to be made there.

The surprising one to me is the .au extension. I was kind of shocked to see it doing so well when the .au forum is almost dead at this point.

How many of them have hyphens in them? ;-)

At least half of them, the Germans are hypen crazy and a lot of time they will buy a hyphen even though the non hypenated version is available.

I live in a twin city and it's always referred to as Kitchener-Waterloo so you can see it works much better than KitchenerWaterloo. The Germans seem to agree with that.

Care to venture who owns Kitchener-Waterloo.com ?

I always find it so funny how they say "minus" for the hyphens, as "Bindestrich" is just too long of a word.

Well, it is registered at WHC, so I could take a peek ;-) But without looking, I guess it could be yours.

I think .TK is the second largest extension. The last time I checked it had 30+ million registrations.

Of course the registrations are free and it is well known for scams.
