If you look at etomic.com - its definitely weird. The inquiry starts off asking about the domain, then asking to sell his other domains, then asking for domain tips. Then even more weirdly, the seller says he doesn't want to talk until they can meet in person, even though they know they live in different states. Then the even weirder video response....
So yeah, this seller dude is an odd duck, and yes, I have seen some of his landing pages over the years, although I can't remember if any of his domains were truly premium. But I think he's got some good ideas, but he's just not great at executing them.
I suppose it could work in his favour though, if you're serious about buying a domain and its obvious the seller is a bit "out there", then you may be less likely to think you can rationalize the price with them. It ends up being an "is-what-it-is" scenario and either you pony up or walk away empty handed. That might not be a bad persona to put out there from a negotiation perspective.
