I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but I would say far from. If anything, this is an age where we need to be skeptical of nationalism and protectionism. I'd rather use a "neutral" gTLD than a ccTLD. CIRA isn't exactly the kind of organization to be able to claim ethical superiority...

There probably is no ideal. I'm in no way qualified to discuss how to structure any kind of organization and it quickly gets into a myriad of ethical questions before you even talk about what the mission of the organization is. I'm not the first person to run to the Government for assistance...
