Interesting Wired.com article about domains...

I'm waiting for a call back from McDonald's, the hamburger people. They're trying to find me someone - anyone - within corporate headquarters who knows what the Internet is and can tell me why there are no Golden Arches on the information highway.

Read it here:

It is a really old article and I chuckled when I read it

What was it? Did you use it...? Sell it...?

It was the name of a company back then that I created with 4 others - CyberTeam.com. I still have it today and I'm glad that the "cyber" term made a comeback.

Second domain in 1996: padua.org. The name of our commodore 64 computer group. .ORG because we were "not commercial", it was the catch all for "anything else".

This was followed by:

* c64.cc
* scenebanner.net (a banner exchange I shut down a few years ago)
* m.fm
* my other last name domains etc..

Of course I also let some of them go back then. Not even sure about which ones, but one I recall was PicturePool.com :(

And even working at Tucows (starting in 2001), it took me a few years to understand that domain investing was still something I could get into... Richard Lau was then actually a customer of Tucows' and was the one who told me there was still time to get started. He also got me on the infamous secret "Rick's board" run by the DomainKing where I got to know more and more domainers.
