I think it has already happened, but like a lot of shifts in thinking, there are still those ready and willing to dredge up old tropes and insults when they get angry at not being able to afford a certain domain. And that may never change, as it's just selfish human nature.
But it is getting better and I notice in how my negotiations on DAN have changed over the years. When Undeveloped started up, you would regularly get some very angry people harassing you if you asked for more than $100, but today, I often have buyers apologizing that they understand it's a business, but simply don't have the budget to pay for the domain right now.
Major domain sales (like Voice.com) hitting national and international news certain helped, and I think a lot more people are familiar with the domain aftermarket due to the stay-at-home orders during COVID, simply from spending more time in the online world and absorbing info.
It's hardly a perfect world and there is still more work to be done, but I've seen major changes in buyer attitude even over the last few years and I think we'll continue to see them.
