Am I the first to notice? It looks like this mostly took place on March 24 (that's when all the Updated dates are). Can I say ya should'a seen this coming?
Better question is, did anyone get notice from CIRA that they took control of your domain (for safe keeping of course) ?
Check whois on any domains that catchdrop won in TBR and they're now listed with a registrar of CIRA rather than CatchDrop - of course with the exception of the smart folk who moved their domains out at 60 days religiously.
I've seen this happen before when a registrar goes under, CIRA is protecting the domains by removing them from the registrar's control.
So I don't know if the registrar just decided to not renew their registrar license? Or did CIRA shut them down for some sort of non-compliance?
I'd include a CIRA rep here if we had one, but its not like they would ever discuss the circumstances publicly.
So if you're lucky enough that your domain is NOT locked, then get your auth codes here:
Domain Transfer Authcode – CIRA
If you're unlucky enough that your domain IS locked, then I guess you've gotta contact CIRA. You think they'd be smart enough to unlock the domains knowing that users can't do it through RegisterDomain.ca anymore (or at least I presume they can't).
Or maybe CIRA will give some instructions about unlocking when they eventually notify you? Or will they even notify you? It has been a week already!
Curious minds want to know.
