Let me know how it goes and I will follow you.Well, I guess I need to apply to the CIRA for a grant in order to pay my renewals.

Giving away money is foremost on their twitter account
Wholesale price of .ca domains increasing to $10.50 on September 1 (from $9.50).
(In 2018 price was increased from $8.50 to $9.50).
I would love to know too. My request to CIRA would be NOT to increase the price and to re-consider if there was such a plan. May be someone could enlighten us on this like @FM from WHC or Tom from @bmetalI see lotsofcoffee mentions Sept 1st as the date in the original post... and maybe this is the only heads up we'll get... but im wondering in CIRA ever announces price increases in advance?
I don't doubt @lotsofcoffee whatsoever but how can be sure this will in fact happen? I'm thinking i will do lots of renewals before Sept 1st, including possibly renewing some individual domains for 5-10 years in advance, but it would be nice to know that there will indeed be a price hike before doing so.
CIRA has indeed announced a price increase for .CA domains for September 1st, 2023, which means we will need to adjust our pricing as well.
The last time CIRA did a price increase, I wasn't working with any .CA registrar, so I wouldn't know if they ever changed their mind about something like this beforeThank you @FM Is there any history of CIRA changing their minds, other than clawing back domains???
I would always welcome a "First of it's kind" for a worthy cause like this. The last time CIRA did a price increase, I wasn't working with any .CA registrar, so I wouldn't know if they ever changed their mind about something like this before
We should go protest and camp outside their office for weeks, convoy style.I would always welcome a "First of it's kind" for a worthy cause like this.
Yeah I’m not impressed either… and many other cctlds definitively cost less to register at retail. They are dropping 1000 domains per week and will lose thousands more when domainers cannot hold massive catalogs anymore.
They need to think carefully before raising prices, I think the timing is not right.

.de, .cn, .uk are all much cheaper for example, if I’m not mistaken.
I second it.I think you should apply to join their board of directors:
Seeking candidates for CIRA’s board
You have the professional/legal experience, as well as the domain industry experience.
That is over 10%. Any guess why??I thought Cira was a non profit organization which btw i'm sure is making money, so how does it make sense for them to raise prices.... and if so why raise it a dollar. $1 is just greedy.
