I was just watching the global news channel this morning, there was an "employment lawyers talk show" I was impressed to see 3 .ca websites listed during the episode.

EmploymentLawyer.ca
DisabilityRights.ca
PoceketEmploymentLawyer.ca

It felt good to see .ca's in use, on T.V. and in ads, I feel it's almost a vindication of sorts that .ca's and even two word non-premium domains have value and are being used in all niches of business.

I have some lawyer domains, I feel being able to say have you checked out all these other lawyers using .ca's in their practice, gives me a little more power when negotiating?

what are your thoughts?

Anyone else see any good use of .ca's?

The more they're in use, the better it is for us.

I have a handful too, some very similar to those!

employmentlaw.ca
disabilitybenefits.ca

So i guess there's some hope for them yet.

Honestly I think .CA use is very good, to the point where when I see .ca I don't even think twice. Its when I see a Canadian only business on a .com, that's when I have a reaction, a negative one of course.

I own the .com and .ca for a number of businesses but have dropped two .coms and will be dropping the third this year.

I figured I will never do any real business outside of Canada and renewing useless .com's just adds to expenses.

The thing that kills me is when I see a .com for a local company and the .ca is available. They will learn their lesson when they do commerce online, with .ca you know that CAD is how to pay. With .com you always wonder if it is is USD or you wonder if the company is based in Canada.

Yes but some registries don't do much to promote. Look at .us for example.

CIRA actually puts some good effort into the promotion. It could be a lot worse, we are just used to it.

Choose to be Canadian online
3 million domains strong!
