Crazy Sedo Offer - Send out the Hounds (1.Viewing)

I got a crazy $100 offer on a one word .com at Sedo and I promptly ignored it, in fact I did not even log in to look at it.

I was hounded by Sedo for weeks and weeks until finally they told me they are closing the file because of my non-response.

Now its happening again and the offer has gone up to a staggering $200, I cannot say if its the same person or not because I refuse to log in and even look at it, but again I am being hounded by Sedo asking me to login and respond to the offer.

Seriously Sedo?

I know I should be setting a BIN but someone at Sedo should recognize this absolutely insane offer on a one word .com.

If I don't respond for weeks/months chances are I'm not interested, just close the file, don't keep spamming me.

There’s no way to cancel without countering first but you can simply just ignore until Sedo cancels it themselves. Always been like that.

Emails asking you to respond might be annoying but I doubt they care whether you respond or not. Those emails are certainly automated follow ups.

I agree with you though. There should be an option to decline lowball offers. I don’t want to establish a price every time someone lowballs me either.

I had the opposite happen. Some crank (likely an identity thief) offer me $500,000 for a .CA and I kept getting notifications to respond to it.

How do you respond to ultra-suspicious stuff like that? Accept and you'll never see a penny and they'll have some personal details via the invoice. Counter at $1,000,000?

And there's not even a handy "Send to Broker" option to get rid of garbage like this without interaction, as there is on Dan.

On that note, here are some of the responses I've received back from Dan brokers after I sent them sketchy characters making offers on Dan.

Mostly it's "no response" but I've also got a few really amusing ones:

1) The buyer thought he was buying buying a house.
2) The buyer thought she was responding to a job offer and her price was her expected salary.
3) The buyer thought he was giving a valuation on the domain, not an offer.
4) The buyer thought he was selling you a domain.

Obviously these are people who are mining for personal data and using Dan to do it, as no way anyone who can operate a computer and be this incredibly stupid.

Lol, don't be so sure... every day I feel a little bit more sure that the human race is doomed. A democracy sounds great if the average person has any critical thinking skills, but I'm beginning to realize that the average person is a moron that cannot think for themselves, nor comprehend how choices have direct and indirect consequences....

Almost certain Dan stopped issuing invoices until payment is made. That's what I recently learned/saw, and I explicitly asked them the question and they said the buyers don't receive any personal info until payment is made. They must have gotten enough complaints to make the change, or he's bullshitting me, but I couldn't view or access any invoices either.
