BrooklynBrewery.com.au: Huge interest in beer not a reason to extort $5,000 dollars​

An Australian radiology company founder noted his “huge interest in craft beer” as one of the reasons for registering the domain name BrooklynBrewery.com.au.

The matching Aussie domain of the popular NYC/Brooklyn beer brewery was registered in 2017, followed by news of a licensed expansion of the US brewery in Australia.

In his response, the domain’s registrant said that $5,000 AUD is not an extraordinary amount of money to seek in exchange for the domain due to some unspecified expenses, including the time spent to register the domain:

Out of pocket costs do not include my time which is expensive and something i can not get back, and it doesn’t take into consideration many other things that you are not wanting to compensate by offering me out of pocket expenses.
