For days now my traffic stats have been down and I could not figure it out but it seems all of my forwards at WHC have stopped working.

You can see Pandora is properly forwarded yet throws up an error.

At first I did not see it because the forward is set in my browsers memory, but as soon as I went incognito the error occurred.

I tried dozens of domains incognito with the same results. I also tried it on 3 office computers and my cell phone.

@FM why is there a security error when I am forwarding to a secure domain.

PS. I do not have "Always use secure connections" active in my browser.

This basically means I have hundreds of domains not reaching my for sale pages.

When google enforces that setting and sets it as default the days of forwarding are probably done anyways so one might not have a choice but to use namservers when using a marketplace.

Support says nothing wrong but I am getting this on multiple devices.

Could someone please go to INCOGNITO

Type in

Pandora.ca
red.ca
pink.ca
pure.ca

tell me what you get in the chrome browser and what device you are on?

I am using chrome bases which are chrome books and an Android phone and I can duplicate this anytime.

Only happens sometimes if the domain is in history but happens every time if I surf INCOGNITO.

Seems to be working fine for me.

I just fired up two unused Windows laptops and can confirm forwards are working fine on them.

Android incognito gives me the errors and chromebook incognito gives me the errors.

I also get them sporadically when not incognito.

OK

This is not a WHC issue because forwards by Baremetal, Porkbun, and others are doing the same thing.

Water.ca is throwing up an error for me incognito on chromebook.

It looks like Google is starting on chromebooks and android to enforce https and is beginning with incognito mode.

Not my domains but, at baremetal

PS. Will change the title to reflect this.

I confirmed it with a friend that works at google....

It's starting on chromebooks incognito, all forwarded domains will throw out the error.

I have mapledots.com forwarded to mapledots.ca but I now have to add mapledots.com to my web hosting account to prevent this.

It is coming everywhere soon and I also posted about it here:
Google will soon enforce HTTPS by default, this will cause issues with forwards

I was able to replicate the error on Chrome in incognito mode.

I am facing the same issue and noticed that source (forwarding) domains that have SSL certificate doesn't show this error.

Yup if you're not getting the error you will be soon, google is going to enforce https forwards as per my link above.

Right now its dependent on the release of your browser and device but I would estimate it wont be long before forwards are obsolete.

That said I seem to remember that webnames had a way to make it work
How to enable HTTPS URL Forwarding on a domain name - Webnames Blog

I get the error for my whc forwards but my https forwards at porkbun seem to work.

Yup, I closed the WHC ticket, they don't know what I'm talking about.
I noticed the porkbun forwards are working. and the WHC ones are not.

Hello Frank

Thanks for contacting Web Hosting Canada.

I’ve thoroughly reviewed the issue and confirmed that all domains are forwarding correctly without security warnings on both regular and incognito modes.
It’s possible the security errors you're encountering could be due to cached data or specific browser configurations on your Android and Chromebook devices.

If you have additional questions about this issue, feel free to reply to this ticket by accessing the support portal at Login - WHC.CA and we'll do our best to continue addressing your concerns. For real-time assistance, you can also contact us via live chat 24/7 at WHC | Web Hosting Canada or by phone at 1-514-504-2113.

Hey, I'm looking into this.

To remedy this at the moment I have changed nameservers and repointed the affected domains.

I have added all the system domains I need to the dn.ca hosting package graciously provided by WHC.

So technically WHC needs to do what porkbun is doing to get forwards to work moving forward.

@MapleDots Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I'm taking a closer look to see if this is something we can address quickly.

Seems to be affecting other providers as well, been seeing it in a number of places but others have somehow managed a workaround.

PS. I am seeing it outside of incognito now as well so google is changing the way chrome treats forwards.

I added SSL certificates to all the domains that were set up for forwarding to the lander yesterday, and this has resolved the security errors.

Yeah I had to do that for dn.ca system domains

SoldDomains.ca
MarketPage.ca
MarketPages.ca
DNMarket.ca

etc

All the regular forwards got errors so now all the domains are addon domains to the dn.ca hosting package with full certificates.
That did resolve it but with hundreds of For Sale domains one can obviously no add them as addon domains so short of pointing name servers there is currently no solution I am aware of.
