Domain Investor's Dream (1 Viewing)

I have developed 5 sites for personal use, so not many considering how many domains I own.

I also launched Priide.com a mock site to show possible end use for a domain.

I was never really able to do more than a simple mock site because I could not get into the subject matter, it was beyond my understanding. I'm a married guy with kids and I think I'm pretty progressive but quite honestly I know next to nothing about the subject.

Startup CEO's Dream

Guy 1: Imagine if no one had registered X.com back in 1993, then it would be available today for me to hand-register for my startup.

Guy 2: You're an idiot!

back in the 2000's and 2010's, I think every domainer would say about a domain they acquired that "if I don't sell it, I'll just develop it". Including me. But it takes a lot of work to develop a real business on a domain. It's kind of like the joke about actors saying "what I really want to do is direct..." :D

In the 2000's, especially the early 2000's, you could create a one page site on a good keyword domain, with some text and ads, and get it listed on the first page of Google. Or at least get good search traffic to it. Today that would be really hard without a lot of real work.
