How does one get the discount for new domain registrations? Registered one domain but by the time it got to the payment the price bumped up to regular.
 
I assumed the deal was probably set to new accounts which may not have used such a sale before.
 
Eby @Eby, sonatime @sonatime and anyone else encountering this, please double check if you have a coupon, like the "CIRA75CA" referral coupon (which can only be used once per account) in your cart. If I removed this before going to checkout I got the correct price.

Still testing if there are any further issues.

Please note that we're only able to fully check eligibility once you're logged in.

Eby @Eby sonatime @sonatime Can you please let me know if you see that coupon and can remove it or if the issue remains? Please go up to point where you need to login to your account. I'm only able to reproduce this in some edge cases at the moment.

I checked and I have never used a coupon. I tried proceeding with the transaction in a new private window in case other WHC open tabs might be interfering but still no luck. Everything is good till payment when the price becomes 10 dollars. Or till I sign in and the price becomes to $10 again.

Okay, we figured out what is causing this.

Basically since we're splitting backorders into a bid and registration cost now, it appears that we're counting the backorders as use of the promotion, which shouldn't be the case. A fix is in the works, but since it won't be retroactive:

So... if the promotion actually worked it would be a ONE domain per account limit?

Thanks for the info (and I did preorder a few .CAs) and I really looked for the "fine print" on the site but didn't see it.

I should have looked at your post first. :D
 
BTW, I have already made several TBR pre-orders at WHC, and plan to try your "workaround" for getting the $1.99 price... please let me know the specifics.
