OMG, this thing is as whacked as it gets

All that said... I do believe Namepros is no longer in private hands and has not been for a while. Some larger corporation owns them and they probably heavily favour their corporation in the moderation.

I won't say why I think this, as I refuse to incriminate myself, but if another business owns NP then it's GoDaddy.

The crap has really hit the fan in the NamePros thread, starting with this post by "Epik LLC".

alert - The fund can't be withdrawal from Epik.com via Masterbucks wallet

Some of the stuff sure sounds like Rob Monster, like -

As all of you have documented and somehow had the time to write up 299 pages about this rehashing the same thing 80 different ways.

He has said similar things in other threads in the past.

or

Rob Monster might have made a bunch of bad mistakes, but he worked tirelessly for the last 9 months behind the scenes to make this deal happen

or

And any of your speculation is worthless at this point also.

Oh, and Rob Monster logged back into NamePros now, only after the customers are going to get left holding the bag.

The "Epic LLC" post on NamePros says -

"Rob Monster might have made a bunch of bad mistakes, but he worked tirelessly for the last 9 months behind the scenes to make this deal happen and Brian Royce worked nonstop around the clock trying to save Epik and both tried as hard as possible to help as many clients as possible."

Their own Twitter account disagrees -

I loved the comment by the shell company Epik LLC when asked it would pay domainers back...

Acting confused, then... "Epic LLC doesn't even have escrow"

Yeah, OK.

Kathleen has still not been paid for this "escrow" transaction from September 2022.

It occurred while Brian Royce was CEO.

Royce said Masterbucks is a big part of Epik’s future and he plans to turn Masterbucks into a Paypal competitor.

Unrelated to Masterbucks, Royce reiterated free speech views that were in the news release announcing his appointment as CEO. Royce said he’s a big proponent of free speech.

“I think of Epik as a utility provider, just like Verizon,” he explained. “We’re providing a utility. You could call me on the phone and say horrible stuff that I find repugnant, and Verizon isn’t going to cut off your phone line. That is the freedom of speech. The same thing is true on the internet, or it should be.”

Royce said he’s comfortable with Epik providing services to controversial groups. “We’re not far right; we’re far everything,” he said. He said the company would work with Antifa or the late Larry Flynt, for example. Generally speaking, he draws his line at people taking from others or hurting them.

Some good news: Kathleen got paid

I am glad she got paid, after almost (9) months. I know how negatively she was impact by all this.

It took quite a fight to make it happen.

This is not a matter of "doing the right thing" though.

Her case was far too well documented, and had serious legal exposure for Epik and executives involved.
She had a letter acknowledging the debt from the CEO, that promised payment by the end of January 2023.

These are the type of cases that often end in criminal charges.

However, this is a one-off payment.

Epik excluded "Masterbucks", and other debts to customers. They are intended to be left holding the bag for "old" Epik's corporate abuse.
