I've been curious about domainers' experiences with selling French language names in Canada. With the early structure of CIRA's naming nomenclature (e.g. nnnn.qc.ca ) I'm sure there are still many of these in use. But for pure .CA names with a French word(s), what has been your experience? Deal flow, prices, etc.

Not great over 20 years is my experience! I have seen the occasional good sale but can’t say more than that.

that said, after a drought in sales I just sold a french casino related . ca in March for $5000 US at BIN. no haggle or counter. probably left some cash on the table but needed a sale so I’m good with it. Years ago sold SantePlus for low $xxxx.

Even if that hadn’t happened, I’m still holding some good single and two word french .ca’s because they have potential value. the casino name I held for 7 years with no real offers. some french words also work in english. I wouldn’t specialize in french .ca’s only but I like to have some. Words like froid, mince, mincir, poire and more I will keep holding. If someone french would easily know the word or term, and it has commercial value, easy to spell, etc, probably a good hold. Companies in Canada need to market to millions of french people too.
