I'm pretty sure we did that first, we used the term Guide since 2020

We also don't use the term rules, we call them Guidelines to keep everything friendly.

I estimate that 20% of the buyer clients Name Ninja ends up getting hired by report that they first tried the GoDaddy 'broker' route and when that route failed they hire us. As the old saying goes, 'if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys'. ;+)

It really makes me wonder what these GoDaddy "brokers" tell potential clients. Probably something like:

"Okay, your max offer is $250, but we don't want to give that away at the start. We'll ask the seller for a price to see it comes in lower!"

When they should say:

"You want me to offer $250 for a 1-word .COM? Are you %$#@ nuts?"

I just had a potential client want us to get him a four-letter, one syllable, one-word .com for a budget for $12k ... sigh

How much does godaddy make per year off of this service? How many people actually pay $160 for their broker mail service?

I would say a lot, as I get these stupid inquiries all the time on domains that are yet-to-be listed on a marketplace.

Just for the record, not one of them ever offered more than a few hundred dollars (and you need to wait 3-4 emails before the GD broker unveils the $XXX "rare cash offer"), which is why I no longer respond to this idiocy.

It's just a bunch of stupid, cheap SOBs hoping to scam using a $119.99 broker.

I really dont get why someone would say make offer? Expect a huge five, 6 figure offer? Just quote a price and move on
When you see SydneyTools.com sell for $100,000 and Moar.xyz sell for $22,888 it kinda not makes you want to price your decent to better domains.

I believe all Swetha names are priced and priced high. I assume tools was priced as well.

Someone just got lucky with SydneyTools.com, as a company grew up around an existing domain investment. As for Swetha, I don't even look at her prices, any more than I look for the Easter Rabbit in the back yard. :sneaky:
