GoDaddy used to be very fast at payment processing, which is one reason I put up with the 20% commission rate. A couple of days at most and you were done.
Lately though, the wait times to get your money have extended greatly, and continue to do so. I have one transaction at 5 biz days, one at 8 biz days and another at 11 biz days, all still sitting at "Funds received, authorization pending". I called GD Support up yesterday and gave them the 2 oldest transactions to chat with the Auctions dept. about, and as usual, they came back with canned responses like "Payment authorization can take 5-7 days" and "We cannot release the money until you transfer us the domain".
Ummmm, didn't I just tell you that one was 8 days and another 11 days since payment?
Adding to this is the fact that the GD Auctions system literally melted down in the first week of December and was not fully operational for days (Status had "blank fields" and I had to send in authorization codes via email) so this all might be a resident bug where the payment has been authorized but their system isn't updating the Status field properly. Or I'm running into yet another company with a "Cash Flow Crisis" to which the natural response is to not pay anyone.
I honestly believe the entire world is having cash flow problems right now and looking for any way to artificially build up bankable money. Epik is obviously the worst offender, but I'm seeing it more and more from businesses who are now withholding your payout money as if their corporate lives depended on it.
Until I start seeing some $$$ from GoDaddy, I am not going to be negotiating on their platform anymore and stick with Dan (which seems to still work fine - knock on wood). Most of my domains forward to Dan and if you just ignore GD offers, real buyers will eventually come calling. I'm hardly starving and anything is better than playing the interminable "GoDaddy Waiting Game" without any timely access to Support.
P.S. And yes I did send an email to GD Auctions Support, but as you know they have a minimum 4-5 day response time and a maximum of about 3 weeks, so I'm not holding my breath for a reply.
