Just wondering if anyone ever got this option at Siber, or at any other TBR registrar.

I keep hearing about all the TBR deadbeats (places like Burmac/Dot-CA post their deadbeat domains for sale) but I've never had this happen to me, and I finish second in a LOT of auctions LOL.

I hear you DR! But in all the many years I have been using them I have never had that happen myself.

Good question. I've never seen it happen either. You'd think it would occasionally happen, but then again maybe the registrar is almost always happy to keep the name for themselves under these circumstances.

It happened to me many years ago with Pool. But only once. I’m quite surprised that it doesn’t happen more often as I’m sure there are many non paying auction winners at Sibername and MyId.

I think that might be part of the equation as well, and any second-chance offer you'd get would only be on the duds.

And in case anyone was wondering why I brought this up, I noticed this in the Siber TOS:

If your payment is not received in 3 days without a valid reason, we will offer the domain name to the second highest bidder

Has never happened to me.

Though I've had a TBR domain go to auction with more than one bidder, and I went into the auction as top bidder, and won the domain without any further bidding. And this was with an initial bid <$50.

I will bet bottom dollars the defaulted domains end up in the MyId inventory.

I will bet you Danny Hunter’s average weekly TBR income that you’re right. :)

Yeah, them too.

And speaking of MyiD, I was just going to head down TBR Memory Lane at their (cough) Marketplace, but Danny has shut it down and now requires anyone looking at the domains to a) send in photo ID and b) agree to a TOS, before viewing any listings.

I also don't think you can even access their (harumph) Marketplace or the new requirements without being logged into MyID.

Methinks this strict limits are due to a combination of scallywags like us joining up the dots and sketchy UDRPs involving retired old ladies from Europe.

I finally got in, and it's even weirder, as some of the top-listed domains are not even registered, like dwstore.ca, detw.ca, dandw.ca - I guess if someone is dumb enough to buy them, MyID will register the domains for them. LOL

I highly doubt that they are alone in participating in this practice. Sadly

I believe those are listed in the Incredibly High Margin Domains section
