Has DNForum.com been sold? - The domain is pending transfer (8.Viewing)

I am probably one of the only long time investors that even still uses NamePros actively. NamePros is also far more active than DNF.

With that said, if NamePros demanded $270/year I would probably just quit posting. It is members that bring the value to forums.

NamePros (and other forums) don't really do anything to help my business or bottom line.

DNF just seems confused about which side is bringing the value.

I like to view this as a lease agreement. If a new owner shows up and takes over a lease he needs to honour the past agreement. Going forward with others do as you wish but you can’t come in and make changes like that. It’s just a scum bag thing to do and we’re talking about a forum that no one even visits.

I agree. As @GeorgeK pointed out when you buy a business, you are buying assets and liabilities.

The "lifetime" members are a liability in my view. It is also not like this limited amount of members is some major burden on the forum.
You know it is really server intensive for people to have a signature or badge. 🤣

It is just a blatant cash grab.

I like Theo's post, but I like his signature even more 🤣

What a clusterf*ck. The new owner of that forum has made several questionable business decisions in the past. At least he is consistent. I wish him lots of luck; he is going to need it.

As an FYI, Epik bought it for 85k over 12 months when they paid for it.

This guy has a terrible attitude.

Adam Dicker said the forum sold for $85K to Epik. It was more active then.

This guy probably paid like low $XX,XXX for the forum and wants people to pay $270/year for a dead forum, just to have a signature and stupid badge.

Also, what is a "serious objection", if responses from some of the top members don't count.

It is laughable.

Yeah, I think this is a sequence of desperates trying to raise cash by liquidating the forum. Each step has further tarnished the brand. Satan hands it off with a weak pulse, EpikFailure manages to lose the pulse, and now bizarrely the new dude think that asking lifetime members who created most of the content to pay again is going to work like an AED and revive the heartbeat. The reality is, this old horse is DOA. Time for the glue factory.

Helmuts seems to be confused with what he actually bought.

He is acting like it is some service to domain investors, and they should pay $270/year for the honor of being a member.

I was skeptical that the forum could be turned around, now I am absolutely convinced the forum is dead.
If anyone can revive the forum, it is certainly not this guy with his attitude.

Spoiler alert - the "heritage" of the forum already has withered away, a long time ago. Someone should let him know.
