Is .net still a good investment? (1 Viewing)

So much for that GoDaddy evaluation

they generally overvalue a bad name, undervalue a good domain....

You can come up with any random combo and get $1K+ valuations.
But, the top end has a ceiling of $25K.

So some terrible handreg domain it shows is worth $1K+, but Gold.com is worth $25K+.

And now it's selling for less than registration cost, that means GoDaddy would lose money on a sale at this point.

I don't know, something does not add up, I have never known godaddy to lose money on anything.

The way it is listed is kind of confusing. Closeouts also add the renewal fee if you buy it.

Day 1: $50 + renewal
Day 2: $40 + renewal
Day 3: $30 + renewal
Day 4: $11 + renewal
Day 5: $5 + renewal

Yeah been so long since I bought a domain at expiry, forgot about the renewal on top.

I will be dropping loads of . Nets I acquired from a portfolio, this was just an experiment, I don't expect other . Nets to perform better unless they are one word.

Now available to register for $14.99

Yet according to GoDaddy it has a value of $206

Maybe I should buy a few thousand .net's and sell them back to godaddy :ROFLMAO:
That appraisal has to have misled many people, especially new investors.

It has been fixed a bit though. It used to be like $1000+ for every random two word term you came up with.
Many now say "Less than $100" or a number in the low 100's.
