It took me a while to find an example, but I believe Tucows provides the privacy service address for Google Domains. e.g.

So, perhaps Tucows has a service offering that can be used by other registrars?

I should have known that, google domains is the registrar for dn.ca They give us almost unlimited dn.ca email addresses and sub domains.

Google uses tucows, not opensrs, (weird) so I think it's probably a private service.

With WHC it looks strange to have it divided into two countries on whois.

Yes, Tucows will provide this service to other registrars (for a fee).

So WHC should compare pricing, maybe it's cheaper to keep the service in Canada.

We use privacy from a another provider. I have looked at the privacy (and potential cost to switch some of our domain-related suppliers), and it's not likely something we'll be changing anytime soon. I also have a pretty good idea of what other providers there are and what they charge.

ICANN also has plans to require a separate type of accreditation for whois privacy providers, but the project has stalled for a while. I was part of an initial working group from the registrars' side.
