Is this a risky CIRA registration? (1 Viewing)

I was made aware of a CIRA registration that looked like this...

It's a public registration without privacy enabled but for the registrants sake I thought I would not publish the name and I only took a partial screenshot.

Seems like the registrant uses that on a number of domains and although it's a brilliant idea I can't help but feel he might be putting his registrations at risk.

That said, if he is a private individual then he is basically using the empty field as an advertisement to sell his domain.


All in all I have mixed feelings about it and thought I would discuss it with the community to get feedback.
 
Check again in a year to see if whois still shows that; my guess is CIRA will flag this and not allow it.

I don't really think CIRA is proactive about any sort of rules enforcement - as far as I can tell, they are only reactive. So only if you complain about it, then they might look into it.
 
There are no restrictions on data in the "organization" field for individual type registrants (like a Canadian Citizen for example). But for non-individual type registrants (like a Corporation) we are moving towards a model where the data in the organization field will be considered the bona fide registrant (as opposed to the data contained in the Contact Name field as it is today). The issue is not so much one for CIRA but for the registrant in the event a RIV (Registrant Information Validation) process is launched against the domain. Registrants will need to make sure the contact information truly reflects the correct data depending on Canadian presence category (individual vs non-individual).

Are you saying that the current model allows a registrant to NOT need to make sure that the contact information truly reflects the correct data depending on the CPR catagory?
