NameBlock is launching soon (1.Viewing)

NameBlock is launching. Soon, you or your clients will be able to proactively protect your company's name and brand by blocking domain name registrations by others.

For example, I can place a block on my company's name, "Hartzer". No one will be able to register a domain name that includes "Hartzer" in the name (along with a ton of other 'variations' of that name).

This is great news for companies and brands, especially brands that have their websites regularly copied or their products being sold on unapproved or fake websites.

No trademark necessary to place a block.

No true domain registry would ever sign up for such an insane, open-to-abuse "service" like this and as posted on NP, the (cough) registries that did sign up are all the junk new gTLDs that are dead in the water and no one cares about anyway.

Yes, we're talking about vaunted registries like .ink, .uno, .shell, .george, .love, .kids, .moe, .tattoo, and many, many more!

I guess these loser registries were convinced they could make more money NOT selling domains that actually selling them.

Or The, And or It?

Any set of letters is valid and you don't need a TM - all you need is a big bag of money. It's truly an insane venture.

Is there anything stopping me from blocking a common last name and selling registration approval? Could be a lucrative investment.
