
The next generation of Star Trek is currently being filmed at the CIGI Campus in Waterloo.
The cast and crew of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” will be in the Uptown area all week. Several signs near the parking lot refer to the production as “Ivory Tower.”
Several people approached by The Record on Tuesday declined to comment, citing privacy agreements they signed to work on the project.
A pair of actors in Star Trek costumes emerged from the CIGI building for a cigarette break, and a truck with an open trailer door showed another door with the sign “Star Trek Camera.”
