Not using afternic DNS 25% commission required (1 Viewing)

Just imagine selling anything else, your house, your car, your used couch or anything other than a domain.

Would you give up 25% ??

So if a domain fetches 400k would you give up 100k?

Imagine if someone asked you for a commission like that when you sell your house.

I will never understand anyone giving up that much.

I would give that much if they earned it, like if you had a good generic and they did cold-calling on potential buyers and found a buyer. Ultimately, you don't have to accept the sale. But you can negotiate based on your net take, and if you're happy, you're happy.

I don't feel like the typical broker relationship earns anywhere near 25% though, especially these platforms that just rely on your own traffic.

Plus real domainers have to pay income tax, in Canada there goes another 50% unless you have enough expenses to offset the income.

A tip here.... Renew your domains for 10 years to create an expense to offset the income.

Then when you sell a few, relocate to the Bahamas.

PPS. I hear there there is a platform charging up to 30 percent, I have to dig back to find out who that is.

Yep, it's like the government is your silent partner in the domaining business, who does nothing.

Renewing domains for 10 years is a great idea to offset the income on a big domain sale, what a great idea! I'll remember that.

LOL, that could work and I actually think a few domainers have tried that.
