I would pick anything other than a hyphenated domain name. Even something pedestrian such as torenovations.ca, ontrenovations.ca would be better. I'm sure there are dozens of domains unregistered that would work fine.

Agreed. This was a first for me to see a dash not actually separated by a word. I guess spending money on a domain is not part of their business plan.
 
Although I agree with everyone's the owner of the website is probably playing this angle...

I've only bought one hyphenated .CA in my life and that's because a) it's both a place and a compound word, b) it was well aged and in long use by a company before it hit the TBR, and c) the non-hyphenated version is CIRA-protected and unavailable.

Oh yeah, and d) it was cheap as dirt.
