I’m not even sure how big marketplaces like Sedo even allow domains like that to be listed for sale there.

In many cases, it's the registrar enabling parking by default for registrations, sometimes directly with the parking companies or through a rotation service.

I actually owned shopcost.co and let it drop.

I liked it because it looked like costco but was not.

Originally I thought of a site that would sell at cost or divulge cost prices, something like that.

Eventually I thought that too was a risk and I dropped the domain.
