Hi everyone,

Just a heads-up on some messaging those of you with Sibername accounts will receive today. We are aiming to complete the merger by the end of this month. However, TBR backorders at Sibername are scheduled to be shut down next week, May 19th, after the end of the auctions.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (frank at whc.ca) with any questions.

Thank you.
/Frank

Thanks Frank

The email/announcement you will receive will also contain some more details. Of course you can also post questions here if you'd like and tag me.

Sad to see Sibername go. I hope WHC works exactly the same, especially with the ease of being able to transfer out your domain if needed. Meaning, I can request my auth code automatically and it's emailed to me, and I can unlock or lock my domains.

When domain accounts are transferred from Sibername to WHC, will you keep the same nameserver or url forwarding settings that the domains have, or do account holders have to login and check their settings?

Here's the official email that is going out:

Hey <NAME>,

As you know, WHC acquired Sibername back in 2020. And today we got exciting news to announce: we’re now in the very final stage, so please mark your calendar:

Sibername officially becomes WHC on May 31st

This final merge should have no direct impact on your services and your websites, hosting or emails will remain accessible.

What it means for you

Your Sibername account will be moved to WHC on May 31st at 9:00 am. You'll be able to access all the same services and domains at WHC, directly from the Client Area.

IMPORTANT: How you access your WHC account will depend on the following:

1) If you don’t have an account at WHC, a new account will be created for you. Your domains and services will be accessible in your new account. To log in, simply use your Sibername username, and password.

2) If you have an existing account at WHC, all your services and domains will be transferred to your existing account. Your login and password at WHC stay the same.

3) In the unlikely situation that you have an existing account at WHC but DO NOT want to have your services and domains moved to that account, please contact us before May 18 and we can create a new account for you.

In short, once your account is no longer accessible at Sibername, it will be accessible at WHC. You will be able to log in, access your services, pay your bills, manage your domains, etc. And talking about domains, you should know that domains at WHC just got better!

Naturally, your next invoices will be issued by WHC, and you can pay them by credit card or other payment methods. You now have access to bilingual tech support 24/7 by phone, chat, or email.

A ‘host’ warming gift

As a ‘Welcome to WHC’ gift, we’re pleased to offer you a year of Email Marketing for up to 1000 subscribers for FREE! The link and promo code will be provided to you on May 31st.

Welcome again

That's it for now! WHC is committed to providing the same high-quality services as Sibername, and more! The WHC team is here to help you succeed online. If you have questions or concerns about the merge, reach out to Support at Sibername until May 31st.

Want to get a feel of WHC? Check us out or follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn.

Thank you for your collaboration throughout this process and welcome again. We’re super happy to have you with us.

Sincerely,

Marie-Eve Petit ( [notify]marie-eve[/notify] )

As much as we'd like you to keep your domains with us, you still unlock them easily at WHC and retrieve the auth code as well:

The plan is that all of those settings will be moved along with the domains.

I assume they will link the accounts via our email address? Meaning, if my Sibername email is the same as my WHC email I'm good to go?

Am I correct that registration of .ca is $9.99 and renewals are $13.99?

Well, I'm used to wording things carefully in general, so it's not WHC related that I wrote it like that :D

Remember we fear change.

Most of us do, I can relate. Please keep in mind that we're open to feedback at all times, so hopefully that helps with some of the anxiety.

Since I had a question about this:

To be clear, the TBR shutdown at Sibername will happen first after the auctions end next week, on May 19th.

The actual migration of accounts and services will happen on May 31st.

This also means, to participate in the WHC backorders on May 25th, you will need an account with WHC, if you do not have one yet.

It's definitely at least one of the components, I'll see what more I can share about the details.

So if we have NO domains or services in our Sibername account, then nothing happens, right? The Sibername account disappears, and our existing WHC account stays the same?

Great question and to add to this question. What happens to our referral commission balances and do we continue getting future commission or are we simply losing out completely on that?

I’m mostly referring to our recurring commission not new commission.
