Makes you wonder how many have actually registered their ex company name. An employee who left on bad terms and wanted to try and get revenge. Not a good move either way.

.sucks should be shut down, it has no other purpose than to extort legitimate businesses.

They have proven that by offering it to each business at $2,500 and at $250 to everyone else.

Although as a consumer I would have to be pretty pissed off at a business to want to spend $250 registration each year.

I agree. I believe you can only buy a .sucks from Rebel.com. I’m surprised they are the Register for .sucks.

.sucks can be sold through any registrar that signs up for it. non-.BRAND TLDs should be available to all registrars as per ICANN regulations, but the registry seems to show a preference on their site. There are other registrars offering it though: https://ntldstats.com/tld/sucks

The higher and lower prices were basically the typical sunrise launch phases before general availability.

The video was flawed too, companies could potentially file a UDRP if a .sucks domain is found to infringe on their rights. The question is if that applies to gripe sites. There are similar cases and they can go either way depending on the details:

There are discussions to prevent practices like this:

There has been a dispute between this site and the registry.

Also, consider reading about the .feedback TLD:
