I'm a bit surprised at the gap, as I thought it would be a lot closer.

Update:

Rapid: $1820
Song: $1001

Do you think Song will catch up to it??

Let the whales decide... got it?? ;)

My Rogers internet connection went down mid auction until 11pm yesterday. I managed to get one bid in for Rapid.ca before things went down.

Very stressful day with no internet, one does not know how much you rely on that until it goes.

I made the decision to put in Bell as well and will be calling them today. Moving forward if Rogers goes down I will have Bell and vise versa.

Congratulations to the winners, I would probably have bid them up a bit higher had my access not been cut off.

I thought the issue would resolve and finally made a ticket at 5:22 but things did not come back until well after 11pm.

I lost a lot of business yesterday and if I calculate those losses it more than pays to have a second internet connection so having both Bell and Rogers is a prudent business decision.

Do you have any construction or new housing going up in your vicinity?

We do and they jack the Bell/Rogers all the time, as well as the power, even though they are supposed to "schedule it" all that has gone by the wayside with 1+ million people pouring into Canada with no housing.

Ontario construction companies currently have carte blanche to do pretty well anything right now under Ford. Literally, the power goes out several times a day and I need to hire an employee just to constantly reset my clocks. Rogers and Bell call these "outages" but in reality, most times it's construction shutting down the local station to add/run new lines.

I kept getting outages on Bell the last few weeks so I called them and they didn't want to say anything, but one guy said "there may be work going on near you" - translation: "Illiterates are ripping out the cable and fibe lines as we speak".

Due to this, I have a UPS on every major power outlet in the house and ordered a new Fibe Hub because I think their constant outages have ruined my current one.

I have kept both my internet (wifi) and my cell phone with 2 different reputable companies for a few years now just in case such a scenario happens. I know I’m not saving any money by not getting a bundle package but to save a few bucks a month isn’t worth it for me. We all know what happened with Rogers earlier this year (I believe) when they were down for many, many hours on a Friday.

Yes, bloody infill housing, they dug up my lawn twice already and they keep tearing down the older houses and putting 3 new ones on the land.

I hate that - it happened to my parents, and everyone had a nice house and a big yard - then after their parents left or died, the kids flew in and took over, then started shoving 2-3 houses into each lot to maximize their return. Now it shifts from "big yard with lots of space" to "packed in like rats with 50 cars parked outside" and back again, as you go down the street.

Canada is quickly turning into a real rathole, and ironically, is transforming away from the "Canadian dream" that people were coming here for in the first place. Now it's just a dream.

Where are all the cheap houses, where are the big yards, where are the good public schools, where are the quiet neighborhoods, where are the safe, low-usage roads to bike on, where are the playgrounds and sidewalks?

Long gone, and to never return.

Yeah, pretty annoying when multiple families and generations are living in a single home - the garage has no cars in it, but there are 7 cars on the street taking up everyone else's parking spots...
