And just when you think it's over...

1 of the bidder is bidding at final seconds and extending the auction.
probably hoping the other guy gets distracted for a few minutes. Like @MapleDots says, its easy to get distracted and come back and its over. Happens to me all the time too.

Strange.... seems more like 2 proxy bids fighting it out in slow motion??? Is it possible if two people put in $10,000 proxies, that the system would count all the way down to 0s and then refresh to the next level??

If it did that, I'd think people would have noticed that prior to today.

No, it was one proxy (up to a bit over $7K) being jacked up by another bidder, and then at $7300 it started moving in base increments, which means manual bids.

In other non-related news, here's me after winning a white-knuckle, $20 tied-auction showdown at WHC:

eh, I let you have it. I presume by the sour face you know which one I'm referring to :)

I was in the same boat - if someone wants to outbid me, then go for it as I wasn't going to get in a bidding war. It was easily the lowest-rated of my $20 lottery tickets.

I don't think there were any winners or losers on this one, but I just had to post that image.
