My, but isn't the Restricted TBR turning into quite the expensive endeavor... I bid up quite a few before finally bowing out and also won a couple, vastly overpaying for each domain and receiving almost zero in terms of value. I just felt like winning a couple of my top-ranked domains so I did.

I guess this is like Vegas now, where you rationalize your losses by calling them "entertainment".

I thought some of them were quite reasonable, not loonie at all

npc.ca 1766
pedigree.ca 1703
opc.ca 1500
neighbourhood.ca 1204
mef.ca 662
loonie.ca 484
oit.ca 457
ncw.ca 359
mcat.ca 333
runningshoes.ca 326
nvi.ca 161

I was buying off what I thought was the mid-range bargain rack, but everything is selling like hotcakes now and I had to limit myself from throwing away too much money.

npc.ca 1766
opc.ca 1500

Is it me or are 3L prices increasing every week lol. In January a premium one was $600-$850, now it's $1500+

It's not your imagination and a lot of domains have seemingly doubled in price overnight.

It must be GOLD FEVER!!

Lol, yes, I think you just took onestep towards a nuway of rationalizing your purchases, right?

LOL

Tomorrow I'm tossing some money out by the school bus and will watch the kids fight over it. Same end result on my finances, but much more entertaining.

Well the last TBR auction from Feb 22 finally closed today at Baremetal. I meant to place another bid trying to snipe it but of course I forgot it was about to end. @DomainRecap I'll presume it was you and say congrats....

Nope, I got mixed up in some other stuff and totally forgot about it.

BM should really think about shortening their auction duration and streamlining the system a bit. They go on for soooooooooooooooooooooooo loooooooooooooooooooooooong (and there is no indication of an end time) that every week I just forget they're even active.

unless a post-reg auction get's sniped, end time is 45 minutes after the start of the (next) TBR run... and there should be a bright yellow "You have orders for active post-reg auctions" link in the tbr system (if there isn't write us, and we'll add one so you can bid). The invite also includes the end date and time. I have plans for changes, just haven't accumulated enough "round to its" (or even oval ones). Thanks for the feedback. - Tom

email reminders an hour or two before auction ends might be nice

If there was one change I would make it would be to put a Timer on each of the post-reg auctions, as once it got sniped I literally had no idea when GreenLiving was going to end.

Something like "Ending in 1 Day and 2 Hours" in real-time.

@richard.schreier If this not too much to ask, is CIRA adding more restricted domains to the weekly drops that are running currently, than which you earlier posted in a separate thread? I am not asking if you plan in the future or not, but specifically about the current TBR runs.

If you have a minute or two to answer this please. Thanks.
@Eby the ONLY domains that appear in the drop list are those that have been deleted as per the normal domain life cycle and those that we have published as being added to clear up domains becoming available at the 2nd level due to no longer having restrictions at the 3rd or 4th.

Thanks @richard.schreier My concern was because of cme.ca which dropped also with the same look, like the other restricted domains. Thanks.

Thanks for chiming in @richard.schreier but can you clarify just a bit more?

So going forward, once no 3rd or 4th level conflicts exist, will the 2nd level domain be added automatically each week to the TBR list?

Or was this a one time deal, and will CIRA just start to collect restricted domains until some unknown date again?

I feel like there should be a policy in place to handle these as they will most certainly continue to trickle out for decades to come.

Thanks!
