No joke - this whole "Restricted Domain Release" period is going to go down in infamy.

"C''mere Sonny, let ol' Gramps tell you about the time I parked my brain and spent my retirement funds on 'restricted' domains"

"What are 'domains' grandpa?"
LOL

Oh man, I just got my WHC results and did I ever pull a boner today. With the huge list of domains, I guess I got mixed up and bid on the wrong name, but I ended up winning and it, and the one I wanted sold for $45.

Oh well.... can't win 'em all.

Domain Boners ... hurt ... a lot ... especially at first

Bueller... Bueller... Bueller... anybody get an answer?
I did get an answer to a follow up question directed to support. It was one that was directed as a bug-report that didn't. So I'd suggest using the support link rather than the bug-report link.

And for reference, I was having problems adding an amex card, getting weird failure notices that were clearly due to some backend coding issues, but that seems to have been fixed recently. They now accept US based Amex cards, but not Canadian based Amex cards, so its still rejecting my Amex, but, at least it now gives a useful / meaningful error code, saying "tender type not accepted" or something to that effect.

Hi ,
RLM you misunderstood We only accept Canadian AMEX and not USD AMEX. :), reread the support response.
Backend team are testing the AMEX issue and it should be resolved shortly for good

Hello Richard......can i start dropping my .ca names directly into TBR auctions please LOL
@DomainTrader LOL, no! CIRA does not operate any auctions. We only operate the TBR which is a process whereby expired domains are returned to the marketplace for registration. I would suggest that if you have a portfolio of names you are interested in selling you contact your favourite auction house and see if they would be willing to post a private offering... good luck!

I have a feeling one of the TBR guys will have something similar soon

Personally, I always rejected Amex for my businesses, they charge stupid crazy merchant fees, it adds to everyones overheads.
I agree and we did initially, but we have received over 10 request for AMEX, including from several users that have not yet backordered or participated in auction! They just signed up and for some reason want to have their amex card on file.

When I did try my Canadian Amex yesterday, it said that it didn't accept that tender type, so after reading your email it just reinforced that you didn't actually accept Canadian Amex.

So I just now reread your email. I'll just say it was very poorly worded, lol, which led to me misunderstanding your message:

We resolved the AMEX issue and it should allow you to add an AMEX with the exception of only Canadian AMEX cards.

Hopefully you can see why I did not interpret your statement the way you intended, especially given the fact that I had just got the rejection message when trying to add my Canadian Amex.

I'll try again.

Yes, I said shortly. They are still working on this issue, we will notify you as soon as it's resolved

Sorry, I was seeing if anyone got a reply on that DNS Management feature on RegisterDomain.ca to set a DNS Txt code for authorization?

It doesn't seem to work.
