TBR Drop - Jun 14, 2023 (1.Viewing)

I don't think it's anybody on here, as Mr Alphabet is not looking for resalable or investment domains, and is just pumping PPC ads like a maniac. A lot of the stuff he buys is super zany and has absolutely no chance of selling, but he sure does love himself some backlinks.

Of course I like domains 😜😜😜 and I have been very vocal about it. 😝😝😝

Any guesses on what Bless will finish at?

I think it looks better than it is. Blessed and Blessing are probably better than Bless, IMO.

Bless kind of sits in that zone between high-end and truly premium, so I'm not surprised it didn't break the bank as I thought $900-$1200 was about the right range.

Then again, you never know if two whales start fighting.

It'll be interesting to see how much Breakthrough goes for at auction on CD.

It's a very good name on its own merits, but the domain length is bothersome as it could put a cap on how much you can extract from a potential buyer. I've run into this myself and lost a lot of sales by holding firm on a higher price with some longer, compound word domains.

You could have a business called French Fried Potatoes, and although you would want to by frenchfriedpotatoes.ca, you will not want to pay a lot simply due to the number of letters. Breakthrough is a better domain than frenchfriedpotatoes.ca but contrast it with a short word like Pink or Aura that just exudes a high end-user price, making a high-end sale a far easier concept for buyers to grasp.

crap

Would be nice if you sent out email warnings of the auction end. I forgot again, by the time I remembered, it was too late.
Absolutely, and as we discussed it will be implemented, it's just that so much is happening in back of the curtains and it was not yet done. We are also launching SMS notification as well as SMS AUTHENTICATION and that has been tested and should be released in 1-2 weeks 🙏☺️

To be honest, I can never remember these 7-day auctions at CD and BM, as there's just too much going on to track something for a whole week.

Next-day auctions and I'm there like white on rice.

Don't worry about it 🥴, when the domain speaks to you and you see the opportunity and have the opportunity to take advantage of it, your wings will fly without thinking to a 7 day auction or/and to a 19 days auction 😂

Nope and I like I mentioned previously, I have a relative in-law named Chen and he even asked me to keep track of that one (Chen.ca at BM) to see if he wanted me to bid, but with work, family, that week's TBR, and a bunch of other crap, 7 days later I totally forgot to check near the auction end.

And it went for $500....

I have to agree with @DomainRecap on this one - Wednesday at 5pm ET is a not a good time "personally" for a TBR auction, 7-days after the drop... I understand why the Registrars want to space it out, but it is easier to be focused and active if all the secondary auctions are the next day, say between "1pm-4pm" - you can plan your week around it. Not everyone has time Wed, Thur and Fri - and we've seen notes here about good domains going "somewhat" cheap on account of bidders losing track of the time/date/etc

Just my 🪙🪙

It used to be really convenient when every TBR auction was the following day, and close to lunch (at least in ON and PQ) so I could easily block off the time. And with auctions happening right after the current TBR, but before I got too involved with the upcoming TBR, these "hot" domains were still foremost in your mind.

And let me tell you, absence does NOT make the heart grow fonder.
