TBR Drop - Jun 28, 2023 (1.Viewing)

Furthermore, CatchDrop caught today for users well know here on this forum, domains that were backordered multiple times on WHC at $35 or more for the simple backorder fee of $18.88 since there was only 1 backorder on CatchDrop for those domains.

Great, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the total lack of communication for the stealth price increase. I use your service and I like it, but it's extremely inadvisable to just jack prices willy-nilly without some sort of communication with your customers.

No excuses, you screwed up so own it.

And I order through the Bulk Form, and there is NO PRICE indicated there until AFTER it is processed.

@CatchDrop - the simple solution is to keep prices at $8.88 but then put ALL domains into auction, regardless if only 1 order.

The simplest solution is that BEFORE you raise prices, email all your customers outlining this price increase and its effective date, while also posting notices on a few forums and on the TBR ordering pages.

No one is saying you can't raise prices, only that your customers deserve advance warning of these changes.

Not sure if serious...

But if so, that would ensure people only bidding at CD on the premium domains and a lot of "low end" business shifting to other registrars where you can win outright at min bid.

I don't see why it's such a big issue, we are still the cheapest backorder fee for TBR backorders.

Thank you, BareMetal will be happy to regain our retail TBR clients/volumes.

Not sure who is doing your market research, but our TBR price has been $13.49 plus taxes for a long time. There WILL be a price increase in September when CIRA's price to registrars goes up, but it won't be 112 percent : ).

First of all, CatchDrop does not Jack nobody as you are stating, to the contrary our vison was and is to bring innovation and transparency and we did, now in essence we do not need at all to post on a forum about any updates or changes, it's a choice. Secondly the price update is clearly reflected all over the site where the fee is displayed.

Nonetheless, you are making a story about it so I will advise support to adjust all the carts for all single backorders caught today to reflect $8.88

Now you know that backorders are $18.88

Quite honestly I never really checked because most of the time I bid on domains that will have other bidders for sure so its always the price of the bid plus 1 year renewal.

The last domain I won with no other bids was divo.ca and I just checked back, I paid $20 + hst and that included a 1 year registration.

That's very nice of you, and thanks. I was ready to pay the full amount, but I will accept your olive branch.

No, that would have had one bid up to $18.88.

You can check on last week's auctions that are still running - they all started at $8.88.

Lol, yep, definitely serious - maybe I would have bid on some of them myself. The reality is I don't have time to bid on every domain at every place.

Oh I see, you're playing the Maple's old "Lazy Man Game". :ROFLMAO:

Well - the only thing that matters is which TBR registrars consistently produce results and grab the domains. If they grab the domain, you're stuck playing by any rules they dictate.

For premium stuff I agree, but for low-end lottery tickets there are a lot of alternate options to preorder at.

Lately, yes. Here's the formula the applies:

Super busy + lackluster domains = lack of interest

Agreed, and my eyes literally ached after running through this week's garbage list.

Found a few okay ones, but I'm not sure it was worth it.

If you're feeling blue about your acquisitions, there's one i'll take off your hands for your cost :)

@CatchDrop

Just so you know, I go directly to bulk backorders at:
CatchDrop: Account Area

There is no mention of $18.88 on that page - enter my bulk order and then hit SUBMIT

Orders were places and only then did I see $18.88

Sure, bring up the only luck I had this week.

Same here, and that was my issue as well. You only see the $18.88 after you hit Submit.

But CD came to the rescue and will drop all min bid wins to $8.88 for this week only. Insert (big round of applause). (y)

As I mentioned in previous post all carts are being updated for all the domains that had single backorders to $8.88 for today for everyone. Now everyone knows for the future
