But I did it just for fun, which is why I don't do it anymore as it's no longer worth the time and effort - I literally used to be up late at night working on it. :(

What I'm referring to is an actual for-profit company potentially compiling a Top Picks List from existing customer orders, and not just from their own research. That's why I think lists should be locked & finalized on Monday so that subsequent orders can be placed without fear of these picks showing up on lists later on.

The TBR landscape is bad enough for customers right now, with open lists and open auctions, but the above would make it untenable.

I thought I saw ACRepair.ca was in an auction at CatchDrop not too long ago and went for $1300+. Does anyone here remember the exact amount?

Seriously, I have everyday French words that I continually field lowball offers on with no sign of a serious counter in sight. I think I've only sold a single .CA French word in my life, and that price wasn't anything to write home about.

Common Singular Brandable Strong English Words

That's what sells.

Not exactly, but the price was stupid-high ($13XX sounds right) and it's still linked to CD so I doubt it was paid for.

I get what you're saying, but this one is a bit different. It's health related and and with a doctor shortage, especially in Quebec, telehealth is a strong space. Plus, as we saw with Covid, telehealth is obviously possible and preferable.

The Quebec government is already operating on a two-word .ca in this space (Réseau québécois de la télésanté | Québec) and every province/city/region has a french page dedicated to the subject.

Might be a long hold, but it's worth it in my opinion if the price was right

Agreed if you can get it really cheap, but I still don't see Quebec as a viable place to market and sell .CA domains to, and you can potentially lose a LOT of money investing in French language domains.

There may be the odd exception here and there, but as a rule I stay far away.

I recently sold Bavard in .ca.

It’s not really a French word I’m familiar with or use but I guess it means “talkative person”. The price wasn’t anything to write home about either but I sold it within 1 year of registration for 750 USD. Things have been quiet so I figured I’d take the money to put towards renewals.

Only other French domain I ever sold was Miam .ca (which means yum). Sold it last year for 2899 usd.

I agree French domains have minimal interest tho.
 
Bavard is also a surname, albeit not a common one, so there's that potential angle as well.

I know Miam though and I don't think there is another other option than French usage, other than maybe an acronym.

Yep. Could be a surname for sure, just a crappy surname to have lol. It’s like the equivalent of Mr. Italktoomuch.

Hard to be sure but the buyer invoice didn’t have a matching surname.
