TBR Drop - Sep 14, 2022 (1.Viewing)

RECUR is an interesting one. Absolutely zero past and present usage in Canada, and although there is a worldwide NFT service in the US with that brand, it uses the RecurForever.com domain.

But Recur just looks like it should be a good domain, but again, it's just Fool's Gold that I'd probably own forever.

P.S. @MapleDots can we move the ITALICS button to the main screen?

if you use an underscore before and after the word, it will auto italicize that word.

I know and ** a word for Italic, but I'm a mouse man and just like to click without hunting. It's just kind of weird that B is there but not I and the whole panel only takes up 1/4 to 1/5 of of my posting window.

I have to consider all sceen sizes when making the toolbars, I have not gotten to that yet but once I get some time I will review the bb code settings.

Remember the screen looks different on mobile and desktop and all variants in between, for fluid design you have to set it in such a way that all screen sizes don't get cramped. There were specific reasons the bb codes were set the way they are, I remember I spent hours looking at all screen sizes and shapes as well as when phone screens were rotated so the setting is not as easy or straight forward as one might think.

Are you actually saying that putting the "I" on the toolbar will cramp it on phones?

And what era is this particular phone from? :D

Well it looks like another big pile of junk on the TBR - wasting all this time perusing the list and still finding nada is getting depressing.

I never look until they close the door on adding new domains, its too much work, unless you have a program you run them through, but I do it manually 🥴

I just do a quick eye test during the week and see if anything really good pops up. I have a pretty good visual memory so I can just skim every day after that.

I liked it when you always posted the top picks back on the other forum.
WHC does an ok job now but man you had an eye for things.

I don't want to go overboard, but I just went through the entire TBR list and it's one of the worst I've ever seen, if not the worst.

There are few LLLs and none even remotely good, the single-words are junk, there are no 2-words I could find to waste even $20 on, and the list is rife with misspellings and fake homonyms, so keep your dictionary handy.

And sure, we have a few hours left before the list closes, but I highly doubt there will be a mass influx of marketable domains by 11:59 tonight. And I will state right now, that in its current state, if the TBR Picks hit 100 then people are just "buying to buy".

If the TBR list is the worst you have ever seen that means Canadians are discovering the value of their . CA domains and renewing them.

Poor TBR's will lead to higher resale values as competition for . CA domains increases.

This bids very well for domainers with inventory.

It could also mean that there was a big $0.99 to $1.99 sale last year or the year before, as the most depressing part of the list is not only that it's junk, but that it's NEW junk.

My own theory as to the lack of quality domains on the TBR is that (like all things in Late-Stage Capitalism) the majority of "free range" premium domains are being held by an ever-shrinking number of .CA investors, and they're in no hurry to drop them.

Less than 1% of the world's population controls over half of our planet's wealth and in North America it's even worse. Same thing with domains and I don't see it changing unless one of the Domain Elites dies or drops out of the biz due to illness or age.

That's another reason why the current market is very dangerous for newbies to get involved with. The Top Dogs can afford overpay for midrange domains, yet never release any of the "good stuff" so it's really not a great environment to make money in.

Monday at almost noon and we still have only 4 active preorders on WHC.

By the sound of things… I’m not looking forward to viewing this list…😂 , overall I can’t understand how most these TBR domains were even registered, let alone some getting picked up again.

I think experiences.ca dropped a couple of weeks ago. Now, it's experienced.ca. Next is going to be experiencing.ca I presume. 😁
