TBR Pre-Release Auction (1.Viewing)

I would like to suggest a TBR pre- release auction on the forum. Given the times I believe now is the right time to implement such an idea if Frank is in agreement to adding this to the forum.

Eg,

Auction runs Monday to Tuesday for 24 hours.

The weekends are quiet. Monday seems like a great day to start since it’s a pre-release auction.

Domains have to expire after the auction, but no more than 7 days after auction start. This enables a weekly auction just like the current TBR auctions.

Domains must be submitted the week before so all pre-tbr names start simultaneously.

Opening bid is $ 25

What do other members think? Any further/ideas and/or parameters for a pre-release auction?

Yes so basically anything we are thinking of dropping we make a pre drop TBR.

I think this is a great idea. Might be a better way to own the domain one likes, but wonder if Registrars would like the idea. This should be given a chance, but wonder how many would be willing to test it out.

I have been thinking there is something lacking on the idea and this statement made me realize what is missing.

Privacy.

Nobody would like to tip their hat as to the type of domains one buys. That’s the beauty of TBR. It’s anonymize. If we can figure out how to list names this way, I believe people would be willing to test this out.

It is quite embarrassing some of the names we drop it’s an interesting idea though.
