If anyone here (or someone you know) ever wants to buy one of the surname domains owned by Tucows, reach out to me for guidance. I have bought and sold more of those surname domains than anyone on the planet. (I also used to manage that portfolio of surnames for five years when I worked at Tucows.)

I negotiate aziz.com and Tucows sells it to me.
What happens to the people using the email subscription service?
THe reason I ask is I know a couple of people using me@aziz.com
At the beginning I thought they owned the domain and I thought I was insane to own that name but I realized what it was used for once I navigated over to it.

@MapleDots. Canadian domainer also offers e-mail addresses on domains they pick up from drop lists. What happens to the e-mail addresses when they sell the domain?

In the extremely rare event that one of those surname domains gets sold, there is a lengthy email migration period where existing customers are migrated to a new email address. There is a whole protocol and process for this type of scenario, but these domains rarely change hands, since the owner is very reluctant to sell any of them.
So hypothetically...
