Who is the best marketplace these days? (1.Viewing)

the UI/dashboard is so busy and complicated it always gives me a headache

I logged in, looked around for a spell a left, so much going on, and the landers were way too busy.

I like SAW and DomainEasy, they are both clean and easy to work with.

Also, unlike a marketplace like SAW.com, Atom.com does not offer sellers the opportunity to have a broker interface with the potential buyer, if that is your thing.

No offense, but after what I dealt with on Afternic for 2 months, I view that as a huge positive. :D And you can access brokers if you want, you just need to use Plus or Premium listings, which have a higher commission rate. I do agree that the Dan method is better, where you have total flexibility per transaction.

And as for the UI, I totally agree (most of it is due to Atom's extensive feature set), but it's easy once you get the hang of it. I'm pretty intuitive with this stuff, but even I admit it was daunting at the start.

The full Atom lander is insane and includes everything but the kitchen sink, but you can use the Minimal Lander, which I like a lot.

And in talking with the Atom reps on NP and offering a few suggestions, an update is planned to allow full flexibility on which sections to include in the Full Lander, which should be a perfect solution for everyone.

I received an offer on Afternic earlier today. God, please give me a competent broker.
Still waiting on a response (n) They were sure quick to take that 20% on my BIN sales...

BINs take no work at all, but once the brokers get involved it could be a month or more before it's finally resolved, and usually with a "Stalled" status.

It's so bad, I got an offer from Afternic yesterday and I just ignored it. If they want it, they'll come see me at Atom.

Got it. Just a little disappointed as I messaged the broker a quick question on Tuesday and still haven't heard anything.

BrandBucket does not have any .ca's ?
Is that correct?

Above.com has two pages of .ca's and all are unpriced, not one real premium.

NameCheap, seems to be auctions only, can't see a real marketplace.

MaiTaiMan @MaiTaiMan - I'm I missing anything?
When I suggested these marketplaces I wasn't thinking .CA specific. I doubt BrandBucket accepts .CA. I am not surprised Above.com is thin on .CA domains, it's not exactly a popular marketplace!
Here is NameCheap's marketplace: Buy premium domains - Namecheap

I saw that but from the drop down of extensions to filter .ca is missing so there is no use listing it on dn.ca

I did list above though, I might send a few of my premiums there just so they can see what a premium .ca looks like.

My highest traffic domain is Pandora.ca which can take up to 8,000 visitors daily.

I am slowly removing domains from Afternic and just forwarding to my own page with a simple inquiry form, or email address, depending on what the inquirer wants to use. I have almost 200 names at DomainEasy, might add some more there while the commission is 0, and keep them there as long as they don't raise commission too high. Oh, also a handful of good 'bet' type domains at SAW. I think unless some real good marketplace comes along, I'll just keep a low level of domains in marketplaces, if only just to keep abreast of their features.

Easy way to pay no commission is to keep your domains at "make offer" and when someone makes an offer just use the communication box to go back and forth, don't use the price box. When you get anywhere close to where you think you might want to negotiate direct them over to your personal form to fill in the details.

From there on you can do what you want and never pays a cent commission.

I take all my inquiries off marketplace simply because I want to know who I am dealing with, I will not sell a domain blind leaving money on the table.

SAW and Domaineasy make it simple to take the sale private so they are my two faves.

PS. When dealing with a non Canadian (usually .com) I am sometimes inclined to keep it at marketplace because they take care of all the banking stuff.
For local (Canadian) purchases it makes no sense to keep it at market.
