What does everyone think of this constant stream of generic Yellow Pages .CA drops?

I just saw another one today:

CreditReport.ca

Now I am certainly no fan of multi-word generics in 2020, but what does everyone else think? Does this type of domain still represent a viable investment platform, and if so at what price, or is YP just casting off the dead wood?

I heard they spent around 25 million getting some of the domains.
I think the redflag forums were probably one of their best buys.

I targeted them once because they own yellow.ca and redflagdeals.
I said yellow and red would be a good combination but I never heard anything back.

YP is definitely emptying the garbage bin. I even tried to contact them a few months back offering to buy the stuff they're dropping. Not even a response.....

They did spend $2.5 million back in 2008 (maybe 2009) for 400 names from Peter Maxymych. I am not sure how much they have spent since then. I do know they paid 5 figures for eat.ca but I don’t believe that price was ever made public.

Interview with Peter about this deal: https://www.domainbits.com/peter-maxymych-emall-ca/

Looks like most of the articles about the sale are not online anymore. Peter has done many things and spent lots of money trying to move .CA space upward in value.

I got an offer for myyp for 1k last week and I was on the brink of saying yes, in the end I countered at 5k.

A few weeks back I also received an offer for mygp at 2.5k and countered at 5k

PS. Great thing about our all Canadian forum is we can post mygp without the .ca and everyone understands it is a .ca

That's crazy, as I didn't think anyone was buying "My" domains in 2020.

I think “my” domains have pretty much went the way of “E” domains. You don’t see too many of them in use anymore.

I hardly ever get inquiries on those so I was just as shocked although the myyp domain seems to spike on my stats every so often.

My GP stands for my general practitioner so I decided to stand firm on that one.
I rarely if ever let a domain go under 5k, it is a gamble but it pays off if you hold out long enough.

CreditReport is a nice one, lots of paid ads when you type the term into Google.

But I just did a backlink check at AHREFS and CreditReport.ca has zero backlinks, not even spammy ones. That's pretty odd

creditreport is a good one but toystore that recently dropped was my favorite yp drop so far

I have MyAccount.......government treading "go to my account" for tax/cerb/all

early on (2006) I bought all the menu headings...to include MyAcccount......ContactUs....etc

so I assume one day there should be a payday

MyAccount is a very nice generic, the term has good recognition in Canada for anyone with an online govt account, not to mention it could be used for banking, finance, anywhere you need an account.
do you get many inquiries for it?

had some modest offers from tax accountants.....really only one possible owner, its a long URL the gov is using, this is a good shortener, click $$ good
