Some of the reported hype for .ai are domainer sales trying to create demand.

I'll officially go on record saying .ai is a temporary fad.
 
I'm more talking about the guy from dn.com he is trying to create demand.

One smaller side benefit for the buyer at a big domain price like this, is you get some free publicity when it gets reported and reposted on the domain and tech socials.

They all are, and although .AI is already an expensive TLD to register ($70-$100 a year), just wait til the .AI registry gets really greedy and starts to steal back premiums and increase registrations and renewals in 4- and 5-figures (or higher).

All the "Hot non-COM" TLDs have followed this path into ruin, and it's just a matter of time for .AI to follow suit and cook their golden goose.

The registry has already got somewhat greedy but in a different way. It wants to charge registrars if their clients find the registry somehow and contact the registry directly.

Interesting, but that's just the start.

It's the most pressing concern in Western society - top execs are changing jobs like they (hopefully) change underwear and have absolutely no concern for the long-term health of a company - they just want that fat bonus NOW!
 
Eventually when AI is everywhere and anything the term AI will become obsolete.

It will be expected that all interactions are AI just like we don't ask people for their home phone number anymore. We expect most everyone are giving you the cell number.

So InsuranceQuotes.com or InsuranceQuotes.ca will still be a much better option than InsuranceQuote.ai

If you got a live agent would you want InsuranceQuote.vr?

Nope, the key being InsuranceQuotes in .com for global or ccTLD for regional.
